Alice POS has several measures in place to ensure you never lose your data.
While we must keep the details of this information confidential, citing no technology or supplier information, here is an overview of the protections in place:
- Our servers are hosted in several different cloud solutions suppliers, and spread throughout North America, and some in the Pacific.
- We use our supplier's protection services including: firewall, intrusion detection, monitoring.
- Our servers are shared, several clients are hosted on the same servers, however data for each system is compartmentalized and accesses are kept separate to ensure there are no attempts to rebound.
- The servers are patched monthly with the latest stable versions to fill any possible security gap related to the technologies we use (operating systems, database, file server, etc.).
- Backups are made of each system's data on a nightly basis, and these backups are then cloned onto compartments of a remote server host - separate from our main servers.
- What's more, a server is always available on standby.
Meaning if there is an issue, we can restore backups from the previous night and get Alice back up and running; within the delays accounted for in our Service Level Agreement.
To sum it up, Alice has put all possible measures in place to secure your data.
We would add that these measures have been audited by a large state owned corporation and been deemed sufficient to secure and maintain the contract.
