Installation of the Lane 3000 from Global Payments
Keep in mind that the TPV can work in DHCP mode, but it's best if it has a fixed or static IP in case the IP changes.
Make sure that the unit's info in entered in the "PIN PAD" tab in Alice
- Check; Semi Integrated Payment Terminal
- Select Global Payment Lane and model number
- Enter pinpad IP address
- Enter port 2200

To find the Lane 3000 IP ADDRESS:
Option #1:
-
On the TPV: Press the yellow button --> Press "0" to access the menu
- Enter the administrator password if requested (or the one you have previously set)
- Go to: Configuration --> Settings --> Communications --> DHCP --> Set to "NO" --> then the unit's IP Addess will be shown
Option #2:
-
Open Command Prompt in Windows (DOS-LIKE interface)
-
Run: arp -a, this will display all IP Addresses on your network/subnetwork
- Match the MAC address printed on the back of the LANE/3000 with the one on the list here below. On that line below, you will see the Lane 3000's IP Address that is linked to the MAC addess
-
If you do not see the Lane 3000 Mac address in the list, that means that your Lane 3000 is not pickup an IP address on the network. Maybe troubleshoot by verifying if the network cable is properly connected into your hub/modem or network router. Reboot the TPV after doing so.

If you choose to use a static/fixed IP, you will need to enter the following IPs in the pinpad configuration:
-
IP ADDRESS
-
DNS1
-
DNS2
-
GATEWAY
-
SUBNET MASK
To find this info, type CMD in the client's windows search field
-
Go to RUN command
-
TYPE : ipconfig /all
-
Then go see (on this exemple) below, the info that you will need to enter on the pinpad:

To make sure that the IP address that you want to use for the pinpad is not already used by another unit on the network, simply "ping" the desired address to see if there is a response. If it says that there is no response, that means that you can use/dedicate that IP address to your pinpad

The Lane 3000 by default, is automatically set on DHCP and gets assigned all the required addresses. Once done, when you will set it up to STATIC IP, the unit will keep all IP setting, therefore you might not need to enter the above info since it will probably already be written on the TPV. If not simply follow the procedure above.
So now you may use the following (exemple) IP address since it is not in use by another unit on the network: 192.168.10.214
Next, on your pinpad, go through the following menus:
-
Configuration
-
Settings
-
COMPDV
-
Registration
At the same time (durnig the TPV's pairing mode), the TPV screen will display: “waiting for communication”
Now, in Alice, go to:
-
Tools
-
PIN Pad
-
Terminal Status

-
The POS will ask for a Yes/No confirmation to accept communication from your computer (it will display the computer’s IP address). You must click “YES”
-
Return to the POS home screen.
At this point, the POS should have successfully paired with the workstation.
Now, when you retry Tools → PIN Pad → Terminal Status, it should say “Approved” in Alice, and everything should work properly again.

Once done, ask the client to go back to the main display, exiting the config menu.
Often, we need to wait several seconds before the POS finally accepts a new attempt to check its status. By returning a few minutes later and trying again (without having to re-register), it usually works.
